Weather.com is calling for 3 to 5 inches of snow tonight! I'm home from vacation, basically un-packed, and my Christmas tree is up. Let it snow, let it snow, pretty please let it snow!

Theres No Place Like Home

The Wizard of Oz Museum in Wamego, KS. The picture of me on the bike is actually from Kansas City's Science City but the whole time I was up on it I was humming the Wicked Witch's theme. Ha!

Yearbook Pics

We had some good laughs and heard some great stories while going through Rusty's yearbooks. We've been in Kansas City at his dad, Michael's, house for Thanksgiving week. I don't have a ton of pictures to post but these oldies are classics!

Just for fun (because my childhood pictures are WAY worse and more embarrassing) a picture from the 5th grade, looking like he ate the fourth grade. An 8th grade picture of Rusty with his lifelong friend Nathan. And, two great senior pictures, I actually think he looks WAY younger now!!!

Quote of the Day

"There are things that don't change with technology. No one has ever made a list of websties to visit before they die." - Drew Cahill, relaying a message brought to him on his George Jettson talking box. He may not have a dog named Astro, but he does have a virtual cat named Tom.

Burberry Littleton Trench

It's exactly like Kate Middleton's, ruffle and all!! I'm guessing the only differences are that mine is black, hers is likely a size 2, and there was no afternoon tea with a queen in mine (I did however have a nice stroll in The Plaza with a princess). Other than that... TWINSIES!

5k Pictures

Getting my number pinned on next to the heater!

I've got this.

Thats me in the middle getting ready to go and adjusting my head phones.

There were lots of characters that Lorelai enjoyed meeting.

Rusty got up early on race day and made this fantastic "GO MOMMY" sign for Lorelai to hold! I was heartbroken that I didn't see them when I came across the finish line. There were SO many people and they didn't see me either... but that may have been a blessing in disguise, I'm guessing that I'm not a pretty runner, and my attempts to run, suck in, and smile (ala Natalie's News style) probably would have looked awkward on camera!

I DID IT!!! I don't look as tired and sweaty as I actually was. I am wearing my new Lululemon run skirt. I've always thought of exercise skirts as too mom-ish, but it was really cute and also the reason I think I completed the run without any walking, I just kept telling myself that my skirt deserved a great inaugural go. Ha.

I did it!!

In case you're wondering, I am still thrilled that I ran the entire way without stopping. I feel like a rockstar. Seriously.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Run, turkey, run!

I ran my first 5k this morning!!! Pictures and time to post soon (my number was 1351 and it will be on kcrunningcompany.com)!!! Go me!!

** If you're looking online it's not the Pilgrim Run, and rats that I didn't run that because I would have placed in my age group! I don't know my exact time but I know it's better than 41 minutes 14 seconds (because that was my gun start time). I was really far back (and there were seriously thousandS of racers) so I know my time was better than that!

*** 36 minutes 42 seconds!!! I registered this morning last minute so my name isn't up and it says I'm male, but that's me!!! Wooooooo!! I don't know anything about "good" times for a 5k but I am thrilled with the results. I KNOW I can do better one day, but I am just thrilled that I ran the whole thing with no walking. I never stopped jogging along. I did it!

Place 947 out of over 1209 timed participants (the time chip cost extra).

I just couldnt resist taking Lorelai to Oxford today to see the Ole Miss Santa! It was so cute two years ago, and Santa actually remembered Lorelai from the LSU game in 2009!!!

Holiday Mart

High Five Friday

1. Christmas has arrived for me! My tree and all of my decorations are up, the storage boxes are put back away. Lorelai's big present arrived yesterday. My cards are even made, addressed, and ready to go! They are my best cards ever, Lorelai picked them out and they are so reflective of this stage in our lives with all things centered around little L, I LOVE them. Oh and see the post below... Lorelai's first trip to see Santa was also this week, adorable! I have never been this on top of things or ready this early.

2. I ran outside twice this week for my Couch to 5K app, I've always been on the track up until now. I will hopefully complete my fourth week's training this afternoon. I am sticking with this, high five! I bought Runner's World Complete Book of Women's Running. One of the most basic concepts spelled out in the book is: running is essentially about moving forward. This was so visionary for me. My favorite exercise is hands down yoga, the concept there is balance... a very, very different school of thought. Moving forward has never been a strength of mine in the gym or in real life, so I'm extra proud of myself for striding towards this sport. (I still don't like running, or heck moving forward, but maybe one day?)

3. My new contacts arrived in the mail! My prescription hasn't changed. That may not be monumental to most but I have terrible vision, so another year without my eyes getting worse is high five worthy.

4. Holiday Mart is today! It's a shopping thing with unique vendors. My parents are on their way downtown to bring Lorelai and we're going to grab lunch and kick of the Christmas season just like we do every year with this fun tradition. High five!

5. I did all of my laundry mid-week. High five!

Song of the Day- Joshua Radin - Brand New Day

Joshua Radin takes up a lot of my yoga play list, love him, and love this song!!

High Five Friday

1. I completed Week 3 of Couch to 5K! It is killing me, and my legs don't look anything like a runner's yet... but I'm determined to finish this app. High five on another week down, six weeks of training to go!

2. I had the day off today. It was completely unproductive, and sortof frustrating trying to buy new Christmas tree lights (the big debate of LED versus regular). Oh well, I'll take crowded stores over my desk any day.

3. I made dinner TWICE this week! No one eats out more than I do. I'm on a first name basis with at least 10 of my favorite local restaurant owners/ employees... something I'm actually quite proud of, I'm an EXCELLENT customer, and hey show me another kid that ordered filet mignon and ate it with chop sticks by age 3! But, this week I pulled out my Crock Pot and made two (sortof) healthy meals. Next week my goal is to add even more fresh ingredients, baby stepping my way to easy home cooking!

4. Lorelai put up her pink Christmas tree today and decorated it! High five to my little Cindy Lou Who, she has enough Christmas spirit in her pinkie finger to squash even the grouchiest Grinch! She kept wanting to pull out more and more Christmas decorations, but we had to put a halt on it until we can find new tree lights, see high five #2.

5. My yoga class schedule is still getting worked out, but this week went much better than last and I think my class was happier with the time slot than what we had last week. High five to keeping my little yogis happy!
