30th Birthday Pictures
I really didn't want to celebrate my birthday this year, but in the end I'm really glad I did... we threw this Kentucky Derby themed party together at the last minute, and really lucked out being able to find a pony and the three-day-tornado-storm lifted just in time for the guests to arrive.
Look at that face, she rode the pony for AN HOUR before the other children arrived and she shared!
You can see the fresh mint plant here, that Rusty used to mix the world's best mint juleps.

The menu was catered by Chikfila, and we had favor boxes for the adults, and pony favors for the kids.
Keith's famous mint julep recipe was to die for.

I've always wanted one of these drink dispensers, and this party was the perfect excuse to get one.

Good to see that I'm not too mature to make out with the model on the A&F bag... klassy.
It took me two breaths to blow out all those candles.

All in all I'd say it was a success. I had fun and am really glad I didn't turn thirty without raising my glass.

It's my 30th Birthday

I was so excited about my 30th birthday for the past year. Then this past month hit and I have been unbelievably down about it. Maybe I peaked in my twenties? Maybe I thought I'd be more "grown up" by the time I turned thirty, maybe I should be. Maybe I feel like there is nothing different on the horizon, maybe that's a good place to be? Maybe.
But, it's here none the less, and better than the alternative. I'm going to celebrate tonight, and it's going to be great! IT'S. GOING. TO. BE. GREAT.
My wish when I blow out the candles is to be more me, more of the time. It's so easy to lose your path and yourself when you focus on making everyone else happy, and all my friends say that when you hit thirty you learn to accept and priortize yourself more. I can't wait for this zen attitude to arrive, even if it means I have to move up a check box.

Lorelai's Loot
The Easter Bunny was VERY good to Lorelai this year, bringing a big coloring book and a few little ones, a bunny bear, pink glass slippers, necklaces, bracelets, candy, a bouncy ball, a t-ball set, and lots more! Lorelai had a fantastic time going through her basket and hunting eggs in the front yard!

iPhone Camera
I just keep falling more and more in love with my iPhone... I just realized that I can upload my pictures and blog them... I snuck this one at the mall. 
Palm Sunday
Lorelai did great marching in with the WeeChoir waiving her palm leaf, and we were so proud! That was as far as she made it, though, maybe next year she'll get on stage... and this mamarazzi will be there recording all of her sensitive sweetness. She sure was cute waiving that little palm!! 
Real Bunnies
It's been a weekend full of Easter activities, complete with a trip to a local photographer that had REAL bunnies, Lorelai was in heaven carrying them around.

WeeChoir Rehearsal Video
This video is classic, but I'm so sad I cut it off before y'all could hear the "I don't want to do it, I don't want to do it."
Taking Inventory
Lorelai had a great time getting home in the warmth and going through her haul of Easter eggs... the bunny was VERY good to her! If you've been to my home you know that this right where we come in... she was so excited to dig in. And, even funnier she was eating her candy and shoving the wrappers through the cat door into the laundry room so she didn't have to get up and throw away her garbage before she got to keep opening more. 
WeeChoir Rehearsal
Lorelai is in the church's WeeChoir, and these were snapped just moments before fleeing the stage... I have it all on video and y'all are in for a real treat to see her treck down the stairs away from the performance... so cute, my shy little L. We'll see how she does tomorrow during the service, I'm not holding my breath.
