Angie picked us up on Friday (thanks, hostess with the mostess fantastic sister-in-law) and we went to West Side Market and a cool glass blowing place... that is a live chicken, weird.

Galion, OH

We were in Galion, OH on Saturday to gather mementos from my grandparent's home and to visit with family. It was bitter sweet, and we were so happy to dine with many of the Cahill family members that had been at our wedding five years ago. Lorelai stayed in Jackson with my parents, our first time to be a plane ride away and I'm pretty sure she didn't even really notice we were gone because she was too busy being spoiled silly; she is so lucky to grow up in the same town with her fantastic grandparents who love her more than the world.

Rusty and I traveled to Pittsburgh, PA on our anniversary for a fantastic dinner at LeMont http://www.lemontpittsburgh.com/ We celebrated with Derek and Angie (they celebrated their second anniversary earlier this month). We toasted with Dom Perignon, and got to ride The Duquesne Incline to get to the restaurant!

Happy FIFTH Anniversary!

It's been a wild, crazy, fun, fast ride. It seems like just yesterday we were teenagers living in Oxford going to date parties and now here we are celebrating our fifth anniversary, almost all grown-up ;) I am so blessed. Cheers to many more and lots of love!!

The Play Set

In all it's glory. Rusty had a ton (literally) of dirt delivered to the house today and spent all afternoon in the 100 degree heat finishing the play set just in time for our anniversary tomorrow :) The mulch is down, the decorative blocks are in place, and now all thats left is to carve Lorelai's name and the year into the side.

Happy Father's Day Weekend

Last weekend I signed Lorelai up to participate in the Lowe's Build and Grow FREE clinic because I saw that the project was a picture frame for Father's Day. Then at the last minute I decided Daddy would probably rather be included in the surprise (I was right, he LOVED helping Lorelai make this frame). They are both so proud of how it turned out! I'm very excited about Father's Day weekend with the family, we've got a lobster grill planned (they flew in yesterday from Maine)! And, we're having home churned ice cream too!!

You can see Rusty standing next to the patrol car. This has been a scary week for JPD officers. Rusty was one of the first responders to the shooting, and applied pressure to Officer Hass's leg while waiting for EMS to arrive and went with him to the hospital.

It's swim suit season...

I snapped this picture on my Blackberry this morning... Lorelai is at her Meemi and Pa's house splashing away... isn't she adorable?! It's swim suit season, and a milestone moment. Lorelai went to the nursery at the gym last night all by herself... she stayed for an entire hour with no crying or other adverse reactions... Rusty sat just outside the door while I went to class just to be sure she was okay :) We haven't tried any sort of child care other than my parents since Lorelai was around 7 months old and had such severe separation anxiety that she vomited all over the nursery workers at church. If we keep this up I may just be back in shape by the end of summer. Oh, and I'm also starting Weight Watchers today... if Jennifer Hudson can do it, so can I. Wish me luck!

Good Times

We had a fantastic time cooking dinner, working on house projects, shopping, going to a baseball game, and eating with Rusty's dad and sister, Michael and Shelley! We don't get to see them near enough, and really enjoyed their visit.
