Missoni for Target

I had a party at my house last night and L and I sported our Missoni for Target gear!!

Wide Angle Lens

Hopefully the drapes can go up this afternoon and I'll give y'all yet another update on L's room! This was taken with the wide angle lens and I love that you can see the whole room in one shot while I'm standing at the door! Any thoughts on how the bookshelf looks white? I like it, but it unfortunately needs one more coat of pain on the outside.

Canopy

I picked up this canopy at Lowes, it's certainly not as chic as the one from PBK, but Lorelai LOVES it. I am still checking stores and eBay for the PBK fairy or ballerina one, I won't spend more than $100 on it because I know they were clearanced out at $90 but if anyone happens to run across one please let me know!!

New iPhone Blog App Test

Yesterday afternoon I painted the crown molding in L's room (go me, I've never painted anything before) and when I got finished I took the plunge and slapped some of the extra white paint on the bookshelf.

So fast?

Did I say 10 years? This was JUST text to me. So sweet, my little only-child loves little friends to play with!! PS, Janice, I hope she shared ok!

Cannon and L

I needed a few hours today to pick up some broken pieces of this and that, and to lick some wounds. Flying in to my rescue Rusty (super-dad) popped L in the truck and took her to see not one, not two, but three boys, Cannon is Nathan and Janice's oldest (they are REALLY super parents they have three all younger than L-boogie). She is exactly like me in every aspect, so in 10 years when she is boy crazy I may be the one taking her to see the Price boys so her daddy can have a breather! Ha!

High Five Friday

1. I've posted the long anticipated photos of Lorelai's new room, scroll down and enjoy!

2. I am going to try to take Lorelai to see the movie Dolphin Tale tonight. She LOVES Free Willy, so I'm banking on this being a huge hit. I haven't been to the movies since we saw Pooh, and can't wait to go!

3. I bought Nike Dri-FIT gym pants in size small, because the medium ones were too big. Go me! I also got two new Lululemon tanks also in a dry fit type material and even though I've always been a big believer in all- cotton athletic clothes, this week I've changed my mind and am loving the moisture wicking material.

4. I used a Neti Pot for the first time ever. It's a sinus cleansing thing, and recommended in one of my yoga books. I'm not cured just yet, but I did feel a good bit better after the cleanse.

5. I got to visit with some of my best girl friends (Nina and Anna) on Tuesday afternoon. We used to hang out every single Tuesday... we'd talk, visit, catch up, etc. for an hour or so after court and before I went to pick up Lorelai. I am a girl's girl and I miss that time to connect more than I realized. Now that I teach yoga, my schedule is a bit less flexible but after this week I am determined to make more time for my friends because you can't high five by yourself, that would be awkward.

It is still slightly a work in progress, and I love comments so please let me know what you think it needs and what you love about it! The chandelier is still one of my favorite things about the room, and the little pink dupioni silk shades look fantastic!














Does the room need drapes? I am still in love with the ballerina canopy, and think it would have looked great in Lorelai's room... I posted it a while ago on Shopaholic Saturday, but it's no longer available online. Bummer.










The duvet cover has vintage Barbie dolls on it, because no little girl loves dolls more than mine does! I had the pillows monogrammed, and I love how it turned out!

The doll house book case..

I need to organize it a bit better and maybe get some monogrammed bins to keep favorite dolls, toys, etc. I am also thinking that it needs to be painted white?? What do y'all think, should it be painted, and if so is white the right color?

Pink frames.

These frames were gold from Hobby Lobby, but I Holly Hobbied them and now they're pink! Well... technically, Rusty (Super-Dad) painted them, but it was my vision....










Can you guess which picture is her favorite? Seuss! Oh, and the teddy bear in the chair was my Steiff bear, Molly. I can still remember my mom pulling her out of the trunk and handing her to me, I LOVE that bear.

Mirrored furniture!

I need to move that light cord behind the mirrored dresser, but Rusty moved that dresser in the house all by himself and it's ridiculously heavy (Super-Dad)... so that's on the to do list!

It looks a bit bare above the dresser right now, but there will be a tv on there very soon.

My dad's old bed...

Lorelai's new bed once belonged to my dad, it was his when he was a little boy... and remained in my grandparent's house through all the years, and my dad even slept on it at his last visit to see my Grandpa in Ohio. NEAT!

When my dad was a kid he and his brother, Jeff, were jumping back and forth between this bed and Jeff's bed. Go figure, Jeff's broke and their bedroom was above the kitchen dining room so you can imagine that it probably sounded like a bomb going off downstairs when the bed crashed... Ha! So anyway, my Grandpa came up stairs and then made Jeff sleep in his broken bed (head up, feet slanted to the ground). Hahahaaa. I LOVE stories like this!

It's painted silver, and matches her new mirrored furniture perfectly.

The Crown Molding

Here it is... the beautiful fancy schmancy crown molding! It looks fantastic (it still needs to be painted). Looks like a professional job to me! Thanks for your hard work Paul!!

An Inch of Gray

I read quite a few blogs of women that I've never met in real life. I follow them online, similar to how I'm sure someof my readers follow me even though we've never met. I surprisingly don't find it creepy at all. I think that in this big world of disconnect, this is a modern way to find bonds with others that have similar interests and situations. It's heart wrenching to stay the least, but what has struck me most is this post: http://momastery.blogspot.com/2011/09/anna.html written by Jack's mother's best friend, who described Anna's tribute to her son in these words... "I am witnessing the essence, the transcendent power of motherhood.".... and "a mother can do the impossible for her child." I read this over a week ago, and I haven't been able to get this story out of my head, the commitment to faith shown in the wake of such a tragedy is inspiring, I want to be the pillar of faith, strength, and stability for Lorelai that Anna so clearly is to her children.
