The Big 33

I turned 33 today!  I have more pics to post soon!  The day started in Memphis for the Rajun Cajun Crawfish Festival but the rain put a damper on the Zydeco fun so we went to Tennessee Brewing Co.'s untapped with our friends.  Then it was back home for cake with my parents!  

33 is going to be a great year!  I'm super excited about my life this year, and am anticipating a lot of fun times!  I'm very grateful for my fantastic family and friends, and most of all for God's love and grace!  What a blessing it is to turn 33 in such a fun fashion!!!  What a ride it's been so far, here's to another great year!

Six and a half!

And the tooth fairy flies tonight!  I'm pretty sure she could have kept her tooth in for another six months, but losing your tooth AT school is a very big deal. It includes a photo-op in front of a tooth poster, a sparkly tooth keepsake box, a bracelet with smiling teeth on it, not to mention special ohhs and ahhhs by the entire class.  I should have known that Lorelai would manage to get hers out at school after she saw the pomp and circumstance of other lost teeth!  There is even a special teacher that helps pull teeth when they're ready, in Lorelai's words, she's a "professional".  

Easter Sunday

I'm having trouble posting from Picasa.  But we had an amazing Easter Sunday. My parents came for lunch and we had a feast!  Lorelai enjoyed hunting eggs this year and the bunny brought her an insane haul!  It was a perfect day to celebrate. He is risen!!

Easter Bunny 2014

It's Palm Sunday!  We've been to two egg hunts this weekend, and have another scheduled with our church community group tonight!  

More cooking!

I thought this was sooo pintrestworthy, I fact I think it probably came from Pinterest. However, I was the only family member that liked the avocado eggs.  Super clean, super easy. I just cracked an organic egg into a sliced and pitted avocado and baked for 15 minutes at 425 degrees. Tossed on some salt and pepper and called it a meal. I loved it!

Spring Window

Yesterday morning Lorelai woke up (at 10 AM, hallelujah) and declared "there are roses on the tree, beautiful roses all over it"!  And with that, spring has sprung for The Ballentine's!

Super Saturday!

For the first time in forever (sing that to yourself to the Frozen tune of Let it Go), we have nothing on the agenda for a Saturday.  It's going to be a glorious day of staying home!  No yoga, no gymnastics, no rushing, no schedule.  We might go see the Easter Bunny, we might watch an entire season of Hannah Montana, we might eat our weight in slice and bake cookie dough... we might stay in our pajamas all day... the possibilities are endless!  Yay!  High five for me, nothing to do on a Saturday used to be a given, now it's a treasure to shout about to the world!

Tilapia Tacos

We had wheat tortillas filled with tilapia (baked in the oven and drizzled with evoo again), topped with a mix of corn, tomatoes, and beans.  We substituted sour cream with plain yogurt!  Healthy!  Lorelai opted out of the tacos and ate her tilapia plain with mini carrots and a salad with Olive Garden dressing.... not the best variety this week, but I'll take it!

We also had a fresh cut melon for dessert!

It finally arrived!  Now you can see why we were reluctant to purchase it immediately following. But the terror has subsided and she now says she can't wait to go back and ride it again and again!

Tonight we had tilapia baked in the oven and drizzled with Olive oil and lemon juice (that L loved), organic Mac and cheese (that L hated), baby carrots, and salad with Olive Garden dressing.  Go me!  My home cooked meals are big hits with my family!

Seuey

Seuss's favorite time of night is after L and CC have gone to bed.  Tonight I'm lounging on the couch watching tv with Seu-Seu while the rest of my house sleeps soundly. 

*I'm wearing my college AOPi pajama pants circa 1999!  How have 15 years flown by?!
