I got family photos for one of my birthday presents and I am SO thrilled with how this one turned out!

The Zoo

We haven't been to the zoo in at least a year or more and a lot has changed! They now offer camel rides!! I was THRILLED that they let me go too!! So fun, I felt almost like Kim Kardashian in the Dubai episode!

Best Birthday, Ever!

I had the BEST birthday! I started the day teaching yoga, followed by eat clean pancakes in bed while watching Dawson's Creek (it was like I really was 16 again!), then my parents came over for my theme party (I live for theme parties) and I had matching dresses for me and L with a matching shirt for my mom we had cake and champagne, then it was off to Longhorn for lunch, followed by The Great and Powerful Oz with Lorelai's playmates and their awesome moms, then it was dinner and drinks at my friends' engagement dinner , and finally snuggles in bed for family movie night! It was a full day, and seriously hit every single one of my favorite things! Plus, the weather was rainy and thunderstormy, my favorite kind of weather!! Yay for 32, it's going to be great!

A lifetime ago...

I'm 32!

Sixteen years ago I was sixteen years old. I was a sophomore in high school, dying to get a learner's permit, playing lacrosse, waiting for summer and cheer camp, hanging with my best friend (who is still my best friend to this day), I'd never had a serious boyfriend, or been away from home for more than 48 hours... I was only ten and a half years older than my daughter is right now. Wow. Just wow!!

You know, looking back I think I would have been thrilled, beyond belief, if a fortune teller had told me my life was going to turn out the way it has. This is it... I've arrived! I've got everything that the girl in this picture ever wanted! So, here's to me: Happy Sweet 16 x 2!

5k

This is the second 5k we've run as a family, and I felt so good after we left today that it makes me want to get back into running for exercise.

Lorelai placed first for the women's 12 and under division, Rusty placed second in the men's 30-39 division, and I placed third in the women's 30-39 division. The Ballentine's brought home the full spectrum of gold, silver, and bronze!!!

Face Paint Friday

We got some face paint at the craft store, and went to town. Lorelai's was a test run for her school play, she's an oak tree. The face paint was supposed to be a leaf but ended up looking closer to Shrek. Anyone with art skills have any ideas how to make this better feel free to comment!

Golfing

Lorelai went on her first golf adventure!  How cute are the world's littlest pink clubs?  And, her golf gear!  I really outdid myself if I do say so myself.

Spring is finally here!

The warm weather is finally here to stay!

Baseball

We are lucky enough to have a minor league team in our town, and we went to our first game if the season last night! Lorelai loves the mascot, Sarge, and even caught a ball that one of the players tossed up to her!!

Eat Clean Macaroni Salad

My parents are swinging by for dinner tonight and this is on the menu: whole grain elbow noodles, Greek yogurt,
a mix sold at our local farmers market (the main ingredient is dehydrated tomatoes), and corn!

Blueberry Chia Jam

The only ingredients are honey, blueberries, vanilla extract, and chia seeds. Warm and stir all ingredients on the stove, and enjoy!!
