The great duck release...

Raising ducks is for the birds... it's A LOT of work.  That being said, the great duck release of 2013 was a bit sadder and sweeter than I thought it would be.  The pictures are adorable and they live in our pond so we can see them and feed them whenever we want!

Egg Hunt

My parents met us at church and we all watched as Lorelai hunted eggs this morning!  She was GREAT at hunting this year and we had a lot of fun.  The church had a snack buffet line, jumpers, and a petting zoo!

Oh Duck

I haven't blogged about this, mainly because its been an over whelming adventure but for the past 3 weeks we have been raising ducklings. I can't take pictures fast enough to show y'all how they are growing and they're pretty stinky. Every time I look they're doubling in size!! But Lorelai has gotten quite the thrill out of her ducks, there are four in total. More pictures coming soon of their great release into the pond!

*I've got a yellow jacket and bonnet for Lorelai to wear for their big march to the pond, and in my minds eye this release is going to be so blog worthy it will knock your socks off! Stay tuned.

Kardashian Kollection

This blog is far from a fashion one, as I am far from fashionable... I have no clue what's "in style" most days. But I rarely miss an episode of my favorite reality family The Kardashian's , and today I'm wearing a skirt from their Sear's line! Go me! Two blog worthy outfits in two days!

Making an Effort Monday

Not only am I making an effort to blog, but I've got on a cute Carly Rae Jepsen for Candies ruffle tank with mint, lime green, and bicycles! Have I told y'all that Call Me Maybe is L's favorite song? Well it is! And anything by Carly Rae is cool in this family. So, Im on trend and cool among the five year old sector. Plus, new running shoes! And my hair is straightened! And I'm drinking green tea and eating a clean breakfast of cottage cheese with honey and flax seeds and chia seeds! Boom, that's making an effort Monday!

In action...

Lorelai had a birthday party on Friday afternoon, and Rusty and I were THE ONLY two parents to lace up and skate with the kids! We had a blast, and Lorelai's friends took turns skating with us! I felt like Super Mom, and I loved it!!!

Ch ch ch chia!

I'm an avid clean eater, not in that I'm always successful at it but that I firmly believe in its benefits. And Pinterest makes all of these changes so fun and creative. I saw a pin that says "if the label says sugar free or fat free it might as well read chemical shit storm", I love that.

Anyway, all of this to say that I've started incorporating chia seeds into my daily diet. And, you should too. Here is an excellent article on some of the benefits:

Which one of these is not like the other?

Lorelai's American girl doll collection is growing so fast! I LOVE American Girl http://m.americangirl.com/mt/www.americangirl.com/index.php?un_jtt_redirect

American Girls are non-sexualized and wholesome heroines of their literary worlds, and that makes this mama happy to buy whatever they are selling, it's an investment in the truest sense of the word. Since Christmas Lorelai has gotten McKenna, Kit, Molly, Saige, and Felicity (who I had to stalk down on eBay), and she has my old Samanta doll at my parents house. She is currently dreaming of owning Josefina (literally calling her out by name during the REM cycle).

I've taught her everything I know....

Lorelai set up in a nice warm bath relaxing with the iPad propped up so she can watch Titanic (she loves that movie, thought the museum in Gatlinburg was a hi-light of her trip, and has even checked out a Titanic book at the school library)! She even had me sitting on the floor next to the tub feeding her Mac and Cheese, being sick isn't all bad :)

First Ear Infection

Lorelai has her first ever ear infection. Accompanied by projectile vomiting likely caused from the intense pain. We saw the doctor last night, and got antibiotics and pain drops for her ears. The first drops were not appreciated and I took a swift kick to the chest as she was trying to get away, while whimpering in what was, hands down, the most physical pain I have ever seen her in. By this morning she understood that the drops alleviated the pain and asked for them, yay!

We've got two rounds of antibiotics in her at this time and she is comfortable for the moment. I've always heard of the horror stories associated with ear infections and, now I know why. This is terrible. Pray for a quick recovery!!

Eat Clean Cookies

I found this recipe on Pinteret. Two ripe bananas and, one cup of rolled oats. That's it! Mix them together. Plop them on a piece of tin foil (no clean up) and bake at 350 for 15 minutes.

Easy, peasy. They were no thin mints (and in the interest of full disclosure, I had a box of those this weekend too) but still quite tasty for a clean treat!

*I ate all of mine while they were still warm, but I'm guessing they'd make a good snack cooled off too!!

Grey's Anatomy

Lorelai was loading up her doctor's coat for play time and showed me she put some of her tools in her white coat pocket, I commented "that's a great idea". Her response "oh, I know, I saw that on Grey's".

Hot Buns

As soon as I saw this As Seen On TV product I knew I needed it!
