Shopaholic Sunday

I've been lusting over this mirror at Pier One for a while and I finally got it today. Now I'm not sure that I love it as much as I thought I did. Hmmmm. The mirror is pretty small and really high up so it's not that functional, but the colors are funky and bright which I love. Any thoughts?

Big Game

I don't really care who wins the game, but I've got the cutest cheerleader in all the land! Geaux Tide!!

Quote of the Day

"It's a little bit horrifying how quickly everything can fall to crap. Sometimes it takes a huge loss to remind you what you care about the most, sometimes you find yourself becoming stronger as a result, wiser, better equipped to deal with the next big disaster that comes along. Sometimes. But not always." - Meredith Gray

Lorelai meets Barney!

My mom and dad took Lorelai to Barney's Birthday Bash tonight. Lorelai LOVED meeting Barney and shopping at the souvenir stand but didn't love the show as much as we thought she would. And, I made their shirts... woohoo!!!

Quote of the Day

"Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about those who don’t. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it." ~ Harvey MacKay

Thankful Season

Happy November!!! Thanksgiving and Christmas preparations start this month. Get ready, this season is going to be very big for The Ballentines. I woke up this morning mentally prioritizing my to-do list. Lorelai is growing so fast, even when the days are long the years are so very very short; the best part of my life is being her mama. I often pour myself into people and activities that are unappreciative and unreciprocated. But, especially this time of year, there isn't a second to waste. Ultimately I want Lorelai to look back on the holidays as a time of celebration. The focus must be on our valuable family and friends. Maybe it's the cool air or the fresh page on the calendar, either way my head is clearer today than it's been in a long time and I am ready to face the end of 2011 with a certainty that this next year will be better than the last.

Jackolanterns!

Super Star Saturday

1. I finished week one of Couch to 5k! Wooooo! High five! I've been back in the gym for about six months now (my half birthday was this week), and I've never been a runner before but now is as good of a time as any to make myself one. It is never to late to be who you might have been, and this week I took my first strides to becoming a racer.

2. We carved pumpkins!! This was the first year we've done it since Lorelai was born and it was a beautiful fall day to do it! Lorelai requested a horse and that's what she got. I did a cat and Rusty made a spider. We had the fancy kit with cutout patterns and sparkly bedazzlers. Pictures coming soon.

3. L is snuggled in my bed watching a puppy movie on Netflix while I unwind in a nice long hot bath and update my blog from my phone. Perfect fall afternoon.

4. I still haven't unpacked from the trip, and plan on doing that this evening which means uncovering my outlet purchases. Yay!!

5. Still in the tub and spotted a fun size Twix on the counter just within arms reach! Score. Note to self: not all of the mess created by little four year old hands is bad. High five!
