Rusty received the life saving medal!! Congratulations Rusty... we are so proud of you, and the City of Jackson is a safer place with you on our streets! (Only six officers received medals, and of those six only two were for life saving... very prestigious!!)

Mother's Day Celebration 2009

This was my second Mother's Day, and the second one that Lorelai and I wore our coordinating outfits (last year was flamingos)! This time Meemi (Lorelai's name for my mom is forever changing based on what Lorelai can pronounce at the moment) joined in the fun too, and Rusty and my dad wore their purple polos!!

So Big

Lorelai went in for her 18-month well baby visit today and is the 95th percentile for height and the 75 percentile for weight! She's a big baby, and the doctor said she has an advanced vocabulary. She has not yet started stringing two words together yet (according to the doctor that is a two-year old skill), but I think that we are very close to that mile marker.

I mentioned earlier that Lorelai had a bit of a bug this weekend, so I discussed it with the doctor and he thinks it may be allergies so we'll see if Claritin clears it up... and he also confirmed what I already knew, that she still has severe separation anxiety (she tends to vomit when under stress, and is probably going to be as high-strung as her mother).

Also discussed with the doctor: Lorelai has never been a good eater, she just isn't all that interested in food. The doctor thinks I may be giving her too much milk... so I'm going to cut back and see if her appetite increases.

All in all, she is just above schedule on all of her developmental goals! YAY! Next check up is scheduled, and she'll be TWO at that visit!!

The Girls

Ya! Ya! We had so much fun on our get-away this weekend. Kandi deserves the Friend-of-the-Weekend award for getting up and going with me to buy a baby-thermometer at 2 AM, only to discover that I am a worrier (much more so than even my bestest friends ever realized)! And, Nina deserves the Most-Patient award enduring endless repeats of the Mary Poppins soundtrack!

The Track

We went to a kiddie amusement park! Lorelai had a little bug on Saturday night, but that didn't slow her down or put a damper on the great time we had!!

Dinner at Lulu's

Lulu's (Jimmy Buffet's sister) was a really cool atmosphere... with live music, right on the marina, and a bar-height high-chair! FUN!

Garfield Ride

The mall management at the outlets should all be given raises with the small fortune I spent on rides... they strategically placed rides every 10-12 stores, and store clerks were more than happy to change out dollar bills for quarters! This was on Mother's Day, and I can think of no greater gift than watching Lorelai ride over and over again... each time saying "MORE"!

Mini Carousel

This was at the outlet mall in Foley... there was a big carousel there too and once Lorelai spotted it there was no shopping that could be done until she rode!
