Sledding at Church

Rusty and I went to my parents this morning to pick up Lorelai and take her to the giant hill at our church to sled! My parents came along too! We all had so much fun; I have a video of Rusty and Lorelai whizzing down. As we were loading up, my parent's neighbor stopped us and said "y'all must be yankees with those real tobogans"... they were right, my parents have had those for years! And, I've got another picture on my camera that I need to upload of Lorelai riding on a sled that my Grandma and Grandpa Cahill bought for Derek's first Christmas!!! My mom saved all that stuff, and it's so fun to see Lorelai on it and think of my grandparents too. Church has already been cancelled for tomorrow, but we're planning on heading over there anyway for more sledding.

Lorelai decided to stay at my parents house again tonight since they have all the good snow gear, and even though I miss her I've had a fun relaxing time at home and enjoyed taking my first nap in months! Thanks Meme and Pa for keeping your sweet grandbaby!! Stay tuned for more pictures, they're all so cute that I can't wait to post them!

The picture of me on the ground was the aftermath of me sledding down surf style!

She even had snow on her hands the last go of it! My parents said she kept trying to catch snow flakes on her tounge!

More Snow Pictures

The roads are too bad to get over to my parents house to see Lorelai and pick her up. Luckily my parents are keeping me posted on the snow fun! My mom, being the shop-a-holic I could only hope to aspire to, has about three or four snow suits for Lorelai so as the trips outside continue and Lorelai's clothes get wet she can keep going out because her Meme has endless adorable outfits to change her into!! Adorable!! Stay tuned to see what fun the afternoon has to hold for them!

Snow Day!!!

Lorelai stayed with my parents in honor of the snow day, and I just received this picture from her outside in the snow this morning... the snow is still pouring down and we're anticipating around 9 inches! Lorelai couldn't wait to play in it, and is planning an afternoon trip outside after lunch!

Video of the Day

I was about to post the original video by Daniel Powter. Found this one instead. It somehow makes my bad day(s) much funnier.

Singing her ABCs

Lorelai can tell you her full name, how old she is, when her birthday is, and where she's from! She's working on her address, counting (not just repeating numbers but really counting), and tons of other cool stuff. She is getting smarter and learning new stuff and shocking me with her brilliance every day. I need to go pick up one of those Flip video recorders, these thing are just to precious to miss!

Decade in Review: inspired by other bloggers.

1999: Went to Disney World. Graduated high school in Princeton, NJ. Went sky diving. Moved to Oxford, MS and started Ole Miss. Met Rusty. Pledged AOPi (back when it was still PC to say pledged instead of recruited).

2000: Bought my first car, a Ford Focus. Crashed my new Ford Focus. Went to Disney World again. Moved into the AOPi house.

2001: Went to the Jersey Shore for the end of the summer with Leigh (not MTV style). Things ended with Corey (my college boyfriend). Still lived at the AOPi house. Started Dating Rusty around Christmas time. Got accepted early to Ole Miss Law.

2002: Graduated a year early from undergrad, with honors. Went to Disney World, again. Started Law School in the summer term. Moved in With Lacy and then Erin at Campus Walk. Bought my current car a Jeep Liberty. Missed out on the family trip to Europe because of law school. Hated law school.

2003: Still hated law school. Went to Disney World, again. Spent the summer in Cambridge, England studying at Cambridge University's Downing College for law school, I actually loved this part and got to travel to Ireland, Scotland, and Holland. Met some of my best friends there. Moved into Ashley's Grand Oaks house.

2004: Still in law school. Talked my parents into sending me to spend another summer studying law at Cambridge University. Rusty came for a visit and proposed in Paris, France. I also got to go to Belgium with my dad. Seuss wandered into the front yard at Grand Oaks and we kept her. Graduated from law school, early. I was only 23.

2005: Studied for the bar exam. Stayed in Jackson, MS with Brynna and took the February Mississippi Bar Exam. Went to Disney World, again. Found out I passed the bar the week before I turned 24. Whew. Licensed to practice in Mississippi. Married Rusty. Honeymooned in Jamaica. Moved to Nashville. Worked for the state of Tennessee.

2006: Didn't really study, took February Tennessee Bar Exam. Clogged a lymph node from stressing out about it. Found out the week before I turned 25 that I passed the bar. Licensed to practice law in Tennessee! Went back to Jamaica. Started working as a Criminal Defense Attorney. Moved to Jackson, TN. Donated bone marrow to an anonymous recipient. Went on a family cruise to Honduras, Mexico, and Jamaica.

2007: Got pregnant with Lorelai. Rusty and I bought our first and current house and moved in on my 26th birthday. Lorelai was born on October 20! It was love at first sight and I immediately realized that she is, hands down, my greatest accomplishment. At only five weeks postpartum my name ran in the paper for my work on a felony murder defense before Lorelai's birth announcement even had a chance to run. (If there were no other indication that I went back too soon, this would certainly qualify.)

2008: Gave up breast feeding. Paul became Lorelai's Godfather at her Christening ceremony. Took a trip to the MS Gulf Coast. Derek got married, and Angie became my sister-in-law. Lorelai took her first steps. Took Lorelai to Disney World for the first time!

2009: Went to Ohio for Derek's 30th Birthday, and spent time with my grandpa. Went to Kansas for Shelley's high school graduation. Went back to New Jersey for my 10 year high school reunion. Took Lorelai to Sesame Place. Went to NYC. Threw an awesome party for Rusty's 30th Birthday. Enjoyed life more than I ever have before. This was the first time in a long time where there was not a life changing event on the horizon. Oh, and I instilled my great love of Christmas upon my daughter... she had her photo made with ELEVEN different Santas, and saw at least twice that many!!
