Well... I've missed High Five Friday two weeks in a row... I've got excuses of being sick and being on vacation... but for those of you that this provides a little laugh to you wouldn't care about those anyway, and for those of you that really enjoy seeing the happies of my week you'll forgive me for the break and I'll have Super Star Saturday today!
1. We made it to and from Gulf Shores, AL! I hadn't been to the beach since March 2010 and I was SO exctied for this vacation. It did NOT disappoint. We relaxed a good bit in the condo, which is totally my favorite part. There was plenty of time to sit on the balcony and drink coffee and hour long baths in the giant jacuzzi... a few of my favorite things. The shrimp was delish, and best of all little L had a fantastic time.
2. Because we were in a touristy town I had my selection of Missoni for Target, the craze that struck the nation didn't phase the good folks of Foley, AL and even though I didn't go in until a full 24 hours after the release I still had my pick of items. I ended up with the purple and lime green zig zag cardi and skirt, and the matching dress for Lorelai!
3. The fifth anniversary of my bone marrow donation passed. I haven't developed cancer, or grown a random limb, or any other weird adverse reactions to the Nupogen that was used to up my white blood count for the stem cell harvest, high five for modern medicine!
4. Speaking of modern medicine, I have another high five salute to it. On Thursday Lorelai threw up for hours, it was so bad, and she had the dry heaves and we were traveling home from Mississippi. It was awful, I was seriously considering a trip to the ER when I remembered that I had some left over prescription anti-nausea meds in my car from when she was sick the last time. It was a huge blessing, because nothing from over the counter was cutting it, and within 30 minutes of taking the little-magic-anti-nausea-pill... she was a new kidd-o! High five to magic meds!
5. We arrived home from the beach to find that our neighbor/ Lorelai's Godfather had finished putting up the crown molding in Lorelai's room while we were gone! It looks amazing, and it was a fantastic treat to come home to a completed project. I know I keep posting about Lorelai's new room and I keep promising pictures, but the makeover is taking much longer than I anticipated. Y'all keep sitting on the edge of your seats, the crown molding has taken it over the top and it looks SO good it will be worth the wait!
