Saturday Funday

We had a full day yesterday first at the Farmer's Market milking a "cow" and making butter from the milk, and then at the Lowe's Kid's Clinic building a UFO.

It's H.O.T.

With the heat index soaring as high as 106, we're trying to stay cool in this hot Southern summer. But for all the terrible things to say about humidity, it does have the huge perk of making Lorelai's hair curl up and look adorable :)

Level 1 Swim Participant

Lorelai successfully completed level 1 swim classes and received this ribbon of accomplishment from her school. She can now glide, put her face in the water and blow bubbles, kick, and paddle. Though her favorite part of the class was the instructor's cat, Sam :)

You've Got Mail

Derek and Angie sent Lorelai her first international mail... a post card from their recent trip to South America (check out their awesome pictures on Cahill's Corner... linked on my blog list to the right).

Lorelai has spent the better part of this past week at her happiest place on earth.

Cleveland, OH

Angie picked us up on Friday (thanks, hostess with the mostess fantastic sister-in-law) and we went to West Side Market and a cool glass blowing place... that is a live chicken, weird.

Galion, OH

We were in Galion, OH on Saturday to gather mementos from my grandparent's home and to visit with family. It was bitter sweet, and we were so happy to dine with many of the Cahill family members that had been at our wedding five years ago. Lorelai stayed in Jackson with my parents, our first time to be a plane ride away and I'm pretty sure she didn't even really notice we were gone because she was too busy being spoiled silly; she is so lucky to grow up in the same town with her fantastic grandparents who love her more than the world.

Rusty and I traveled to Pittsburgh, PA on our anniversary for a fantastic dinner at LeMont http://www.lemontpittsburgh.com/ We celebrated with Derek and Angie (they celebrated their second anniversary earlier this month). We toasted with Dom Perignon, and got to ride The Duquesne Incline to get to the restaurant!

It's been a wild, crazy, fun, fast ride. It seems like just yesterday we were teenagers living in Oxford going to date parties and now here we are celebrating our fifth anniversary, almost all grown-up ;) I am so blessed. Cheers to many more and lots of love!!

The Play Set

In all it's glory. Rusty had a ton (literally) of dirt delivered to the house today and spent all afternoon in the 100 degree heat finishing the play set just in time for our anniversary tomorrow :) The mulch is down, the decorative blocks are in place, and now all thats left is to carve Lorelai's name and the year into the side.
