Catching crabs!

We decided to go down the the water and catch crabs! I was going to do white beach pictures before the sun set, but always a day late and a dollar short, I ended up waiting too late on the lighting for that... but I LOVE this picture anyway... and we ended up catching EIGHT ghost crabs... they're super scary in a cute sortof way!

This picture cracks me up, Grandpa at the bar with his best girl. Lorelai is sipping on her signature cocktail, a Shirley Temple.

Flamingo Pants!

I am a HUGE fan of mother-daughter clothing, I bought these flamingo shorts for little Lorelai before she was ever even born! The hand pose under the chin was Lorelai's idea.

Happy Fall Y'all

I was up and at 'em at 6:30 AM this morning sipping pumpkin coffee, I stepped out side and breathed in the fabulous 5o degree air, and decided y'all deserved a post welcoming in my favorite season!!

The second picture was taken with the new Nikon D700 with the 24-70mm lens!
L is perfectly in focus even after I zoomed in and cropped myself out (trust me, it wasn't my best angle)!!

High Five Friday

1. I got my hair cut for the first time in over a year. Seriously, my last cut was in August 2010. It looks great, I kept all the length I just had the stylist make it healthy and put in some long layers. I'd post a picture, but I don't have one yet. Don't get too excited, it really probably isn't any different to the average reader... but to me, it's topping the high five Friday chart!

2. My boss at the gym said I look like I've lost weight!! I haven't. I know this because I stand on my scale religiously. Seriously, I can tell you exactly what I weighed on any given important day in my life... I always know. So, I can confirm, without doubt, that I haven't lost one single pound. But, I have been going to the gym and teaching my yoga class for the past three months, and I think I have toned up a tiny bit...at least enough for my boss to notice!

3. Ole Miss was ranked as number one "Most Beautiful" in Newsweek! http://beta.clarionledger.com/article/20110901/NEWS/109010348/1002/news01

I'm know I'm sensitive, way too sensitive probably, but my confidence took a hard hit right around the time of my thirtith; in hind sight I shouldn't have let things shake me up so badly. I need to pull myself up by my boot straps, and remember great things like... I represented AOPi in Ole Miss Parade of Beauties for goodness sake!! I am not a bit different than I was back then. Yet somehow, I let people tease me and tear me down and use their own rankings to mess with my head. Well, not this week.... this week, I am reminded that the most beautiful people in the world (inside and out) are from Ole Miss. High five dear alma mater, high five!

4. I made a play list for my yoga class. I have notoriously bad taste in music, the cheesier the better, but I worked really hard on this list to make it something that I liked, that I thought the class would like, and that I thought was a good flow for a slow paced fitness class. I had three students say that it was the best music we've had since I started teaching (the cd's at the gym were so bad it was almost funny), and I opened it up to suggestions and got some good ones. I know that I've got some music gurus that read this blog and I would LOVE your input on artists or songs that you think would be good!

5. Lorelai's room make over is almost complete. I am on my way to my lunch break to pick up her new dresser and night stand! Stay tuned, pictures are coming soon!!!
