From Texas

This picture is so funny! Bryan, his wife Jeannine, and daughter Emma, and Damion all came from Texas!!! Natalie and sweet baby Harper couldn't make it ;( and Nat said there is a country song that says "I wish Dallas were in Tennessee"... me too!

Surprise Friends

I went to pick up Lorelai on Friday, and Rusty called with the most exciting news... he was so happy that he could barely get it out... DAMION showed up all the way from Dallas, Texas to party! And, on Saturday Matt walked in with Cheri!

The Red Shirts Came

Rusty's buddies were teasing him for wearing his coordinating party shirt (what can I say, it's a Cahill family tradition... LOL) and were joking that they wished they had red shirts too... wish granted! LOL!

PSA Article

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/02/27/AR2009022701549.html?sid=ST2009030602446

A lot of my blog readers are new, tired, full-(and over) time working, multi-scheduled parents... and this is an article aptly timed for summer. I received this link this morning, and be warned that some of the verbal imagery is stomach-turning.... but I wanted to share it anyway. I really can't imagine much worse.

The Lawrence Welk Show Take 3

Tonight we stumbled across The Lawrence Welk show on PBS (I had never heard of him before). I immediately realized that this show is the greatest thing since sliced bread to Lorelai, and dvr'd it. She danced her way through the end, we re-started it, and I grabbed the camera. Enjoy the victory lap past the chair.... it's too funny!

Weekly Ice Cream

Meemi and Pa take Lorelai to get ice cream every week... and Lorelai has firmly established that her favorite flavor is mint chocolate chip (with sprinkles of course)!

Sweet baby, sweet puppy

This is Snack's puppy, Darcy. Lorelai talks about Snack and Clint (surprisingly she can pronounce Clint perfectly) all of the time. I'm pretty sure that she would happily move in with them, their pets, and their pool and never look back if we'd let her!

The Blind Side

Thanks Brynna for sending the movie preview! Bryn, I actually think that Sandra Bullock reminds me exactlly of you in this movie!

"Pone"

We went to the Circus last Wednesday (pictures coming soon) and during intermission they had pony rides, that Lorelai loved and went on twice. Then this Saturday and Sunday we went to the Flea Market (think Double Decker Arts Festival married to a yard sale) and the same circus-ponies were there and we rode so many times that we chatted with the owners a good bit. Anyway, my mom obviously didn't have her giant professional camera and wanted to come back with it... so the circus-ponies are at the fair grounds until Wednesday and Lorelai got to have her own private ride by the lake on the tiniest pony... he was even too small to be part of the pony rides! As you can see, I wanted a turn too... Derek had a pony when we were little, but I wasn't so lucky... until yesterday!! Oh, and the pony's name was Spider Man, cute!

Rides

Lorelai and her Daddy had a fantastic time riding rides at the Flea Market today! And, I forgot the camera yesterday... but Lorelai rode so many times with her Grandpa yesterday that the pony owners gave her a discount to ride again today!

My new hair...

Rusty took this picture this morning so I could show off my new hairdo (for what it's worth, I had to look up the word hairdo on Merriam-Webster to make sure it was spelled right and it still looks wrong)!

Goodbye Hair

My hair is super short now; I cut off over three inches! I was feeling weighed down, so I chopped it all off. I'll try to get a picture of it tomorrow to post. I love it!
